STATEMENT FROM THE DIRECTORS OF THE FIVE COLLEGE CONSORTIUM

In the wake of the horrendous events of September 11, 2001, the Directors of the Five College Consortium wish to state the following:

	we condemn in the name of our common humanity the barbarous acts of terror in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania;
	we extend our condolences to the bereaved and the wounded;
	we call on all Americans to resist appeals to hatred based on race, creed, or ethnicity; and
	we implore our nation's leaders to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice in a way that honors humanity, including through the resources of the national and international legal systems.
