VERA SHEVZOV

Vera Shevzov teaches courses on various aspects of Christian thought and culture, in both East and West. She is particularly interested in aspects of "lived" Christianity. She received her B.A. and Ph.D. from Yale University; she completed her M. Div at St. Vladimir's Seminary in Crestwood, NY.

Her articles have appeared in the journals Church History, St. Vladimir's Theological Quarterly, The Russian Review, and Slavic Review. With research funded by the National Endowment of the Humanities and Social Science Research Council, her book on Russian Orthodoxy on the eve of the 1917 revolutions will soon be published with Oxford University Press. She has also begun work on a second project, a study of Mary in modern Russia.
