The Spinelli Center staff are available to students from any discipline for help, advice, or quantitative or statistical counseling. Each of us is also available for appointments: to make an appointment, please click here!

Q-Tutors and their hours

Q-tutors hold open drop-in hours in the Spinelli Center. Depending on which Q-tutor you see, she might be able to help with the quantitative and mathematical parts of economics, engineering, chemistry, physics, statistics, etc.

• Aunaly is a second semester junior majoring in biochemistry. She has taken the core chemistry sequence, calculus III, statistics 245, bio 202 and 230, physics 117, and biochemistry I.
• Esther is a junior chemistry major. She has taken all the core chemistry courses, introductory biology courses, and calculus I and II.
• Ji Ah is a junior economics and math major. She has taken intro/intermediate micro/macro economics, econometrics, behavioral economics, calculus III, discrete math, probability, statistics, and physics I.
• Liza is a sophomore physics major and mathematics minor. She has taken PHY 117 & 118 and MTH 114, 153, & 211.
• Mandi is a senior majoring in engineering. She has taken the core engineering courses, MTH 114, PHY 117, 118, & 210, and statistics.
• Pratistha can help with calculus, discrete math, linear algebra, PHY 117, EGR 100, EGR 110, and introductory microeconomics (ECO 150).
• Stephanie is a post-baccalaureate student studying mathematics. She has taken linear algebra, calculus III, proof-writing, combinatorics and fourier analysis.
• Kelly is a mathematics post-baccalaureate student whose undergraduate major was biomathematics. She has taken many different biology courses, general and organic chemistry and calculus-based physics. Her math courses include calculus I, II and III, differential equations, linear algebra, proofs, statistics I and II, probability and modeling.

Chemistry

Chemistry Master Tutors are available for CHM 111, 222, 223, 224 and lab writing. The drop-in hours are listed below and you may contact the tutors themselves (or the Spinelli Center) to make an individual appointment.

Economics

Economics Master Tutors are available for ECO 150, 153, 220 (formerly 190), 250,and 253.
The drop-in hours are listed below and you may contact the tutors themselves (or the Spinelli Center) to make an individual appointment.

Master Tutor drop-in hours are listed below. You may contact the tutor for your course to make an individual appointment.

Math TA's

The Math TA's are available Sunday - Thursday evenings 7-9 pm in the Math Forum on the third floor of Burton Hall. The TA's are eager to welcome you and to support your progress in mathematics.

TA's can help you with difficulties and questions in the courses: MTH 102, 111, 112, 114, 153, or 211.

You'll need to enter the Science Center with your one card either at the main entrance of Burton or via the Sabin Reed door across from McConnell with the wheelchair ramp.

Physics

Physics Master Tutors are available for PHY 115, 117, 118, and 210.
The drop-in hours are listed below and you may contact the tutors themselves to make an individual appointment.

Social Science (Psychology, Sociology & Goverment)

A Master Tutor is available for PSY 190, SOC 201and GOV 190. Drop-in hours are listed below, but you may contact the tutor through the course Moodle site. Students in other courses using statistical methods (such as PSY 192, SOC 202) are welcome to contact the Statistics Counselor.

Stats TA's

The Stats TA's are available Sunday - Thursday evenings 7-9 pm in Burton 301.

They can help you with difficulties and questions in the courses: MTH 107, 190, or 245.

Statistics Consultant

The Five Colleges Statistics Consultant is available at Smith on Friday from 1:30-3:30pm in Sabin-Reed 351.
