The Spinelli Center staff are available to students from any discipline for help, advice, or quantitative or statistical counseling. Each of us is also available for appointments: to make an appointment, please click here!

Q-Tutors and their hours

Q-tutors hold open drop-in hours in the Spinelli Center. Depending on which Q-tutor you see, she might be able to help with the quantitative and mathematical parts of economics, engineering, chemistry, physics, statistics, etc.

  • Angie is a sophomore economics and math major. She has taken intro to micro/macro, intermediate macro, linear algebra, intro to statistics, calculus I, II and III, and is taking intermediate micro this semester.
  • Ayla is a senior economics major and mathematics minor. She has taken introduction to macro and microeconomics, intermediate macro and microeconomics, introduction to econometrics, intro to statistics, discrete math, calculus I & II and linear algebra.
  • Haolin is a senior majoring in biochemistry. She has taken the core chemistry sequence, biochemistry I, intro. physics, and upper-level biology courses.
  • Liz is a senior psychology major. She has taken Statistical Methods for Undergraduate Research (MTH 190), Research Design and Analysis (PSY 301), and Applied Multivariate Analysis. She can help with Introductory Statistics, R, and SPSS.
  • Kim is a senior majoring in biochemistry. She has taken the core chemistry sequence, biochemistry I, calculus I and II, intro. statistics, intro. physics, and upper-level biology courses.
  • Noor is a senior economics major and math minor. She has taken--and would love to chat about--introductory micro and macro (ECO 150 and 153), intermediate micro and macro (ECO 250 and 253), introductory stats (ECO 220), game theory (ECO 125), discrete math (MTH 153), linear algebra (MTH 211), calculus III (MTH 212), and multiple regression (MTH 291). She can also help with using R and stata.
  • Shimu is a senior chemistry major. She has taken the core chemistry sequence, biochemistry I, upper level chemistry courses, calculus II and III, physics 117 and bio 152.

Math TA's

The Math TA's are available Sunday - Thursday evenings 7-9 pm in the Math Forum on the third floor of Burton Hall. The TA's are eager to welcome you and to support your progress in mathematics.

TA's can help you with difficulties and questions in the courses: MTH 102, 111, 112, 114, 153, or 211.

You'll need to enter the Science Center with your one card either at the main entrance of Burton or via the Sabin Reed door across from McConnell with the wheelchair ramp.

  • Judy is a senior mathematics and economics double major. She has taken MTH 247 (Regression Analysis), MTH 292 (Data Science), ECO 240 (Econometrics) for statistics and can help with related topics such as introductory statistics (MTH107, MTH220, ECO240). She is familiar with R, STATA, and Python.
  • Madison is a sophomore and a math major. She has taken introductory statistics (MTH 220) as well as intermediate statistics (MTH 291) and can assist with related topics such as introductory statistics, multiple regression, research design and analysis, and programming in R.
  • Roseanna is a junior math major who has taken introductory and intermediate statistics. She can help with MTH 107, 201, 220, 290, R, SPSS, and Python.
  • Sara is a senior mathematics and statistics major who has taken Multiple Regression, Data Science, Probability, Mathematical Statistics, and the equivalent of introductory statistics. She also has experience with upper level mathematics and statistics. She can help with MTH 107, 201, 220, 291 and 292, ECO 220, and with R.
  • Yadira is a senior mathematics and statistics major. She has taken Intro. to Statistics, Research Design and Analysis, and Mathematical Statistics. She is familiar with R and Python.
