Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
One of the campuswide
budget reduction strategies involves the
elimination of the position of ombudsperson, currently held by Adrianne
Andrews. Adrianne has served the community well in this role and has
provided advice and counsel to many members of the Smith community. She
will continue to serve the college as a lecturer in Afro-American
studies and in anthropology. She will also perform interim duties for
the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity as the adviser for
equity complaints, serving as the initial contact for complaints or
concerns about bias, discrimination or sexual harassment.
While the position of ombudsperson
will no longer exist, I want to remind you of alternate resources available to you:
- Human
Resources
- Student Affairs
- Disability Services
- Religious and Spiritual Life
- Provost's Office
- Employee Assistance Program (The Wellness
Corporation)- 1-800-828-6025
Sincerely,
Carol T. Christ |
