Each house elects an Earth Rep for their house during house elections. These volunteer Earth reps act as liaisons between students in the house and the recycling program (as well as other campus environmental programs).
The primary responsibility of the Earth Reps is to maintain the Earth Boards, a bulletin board of recycling and environmental information in each house. Earth Reps also help to maintain the recycling sites in their house and provide other recycling educational programs to the house (by hosting a tea in their house, making announcements at dinner, etc.).
The student recycling reps are employees of the Physical Plant. Their primary role is to support and coordinate the activities of the Earth Reps. They also propose, initiate, and oversee recycling projects in the student areas of campus.
