First-year students are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and must have a valid passport issued at time of application.

We are seeking applicants with relevant academic interests (interpreted broadly), good interpersonal skills, maturity, cultural sensitivity and the motivation needed to succeed in an academically intensive, culturally and physically challenging environment. The Tibetan Studies in India Program is tremendously rewarding, and can be life changing. Nonetheless, it is physically, emotionally and academically challenging. With that in mind, please answer the following:

Briefly explain why you wish to participate in the Tibetan Studies in India Program (100-200 words)

How will the program advance your overall academic goals and how will it fit into your academic program? (100-200 words)

  • Color scan of your passport. Your passport must be valid through July, 2015. This is because of the current delays in passport processing by the Department of Homeland Security. In addition, the India Consulate requires that your passport have at least two blank visa pages to process the visa request.
