TEACHING AND RESEARCH INTERESTS

The focus of Susan Levin's research is ancient philosophy. She is the author of The Ancient Quarrel between Philosophy and Poetry Revisited: Plato and the Greek Literary Tradition (Oxford 2001) and of articles on Plato. In addition, her interest in contemporary philosophy has led her to explore Heidegger's conception of human freedom and views about technology. Her teaching interests include ancient and medieval philosophy, continental philosophy, philosophical hermeneutics, and issues involving the connection between philosophy and literature.
