Language and Theory of Mind in Deaf Children
On a current NIH grant we are exploring how Deaf children learning either English or American Sign language develop a representation of other minds, sufficient to support reasoning about others' False Beliefs. With Peter de Villiers, Brenda Schick and Robert Hoffmeister.
The Acquisition of African American English
On a federally funded contract from NIH, we are exploring how children acquire African American English. The goal is to develop culture-fair screening and diagnostic tests to help children with language disorders. With Harry Seymour and Tom Roeper.
