The Smith Social Network is an online database system that is developed and managed by CollegiateLink.
The Social Network supports recognized student organization administration through the development of electronic forms and processes, and a process management system that can be configured to include multiple levels of approval, when appropriate. The network provides organizations with a secure website that is edited using a simple, easy-to-use platform. Stakeholders in this project include student leaders, students, faculty and staff, campus administrators and alumni.
The Social Network uses categories and interests to suggest involvement opportunities for students, similar to Amazon.com. Students select from a wide range of interests when they setup their Social Network profile for the first time. They may add, delete or prioritize those interests at any time through the My Involvement tab.
Recognized student organizations, programs and departments that have an Social Network profile also select from the list of interests, and the Social Network suggests events and organizations that may be of interest to students based on those similar interests.
Add Your Own Interests
The best thing about the Social Network is that the list of interests is always growing! In fact, if you have an interest that isn't listed, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will add it to the list.
Suggestions for events and organizations aren't the only way The Social Network supports student involvement. To reach as many students as possible, The Social Network also customizes a flyer board board to display events based on your involvement and interests.
The result? Everyone who logs in to The Social Network has a unique experience customized to meet their interests!
