The RCSG has a variety of books, DVDs and magazines which are available for use. All books and DVDs are listed in the center's binder but can also be found in an Excel spreadsheet on the desktop of the computers in the resource center. Please ask for assistance if you are looking for something specific as we are able to search by title, author or topic.
The lending library is a resource for everyone. Materials taken from the center and not returned will not be replaced. Please think twice before stealing from the resource center.
We prefer that materials be used in the center; however, members of the Smith community may check materials out using the procedure outlined below.
Five College Access
Members of the Five College community who wish to borrow materials from the library must contact Tamra Bates, the director of the Office of Student Engagement, firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain permission.
- All materials leaving the center must be recorded in the white binder found on the lending library shelf.
- Please document all information required on the sheet—name, phone and e-mail, 99 number, title of the book or DVD you are borrowing and the date you are checking it out.
- All materials should be brought back to the center as soon as you are finished with them. Program assistants for the center will check the library periodically and e-mail those who have yet to bring back materials.
- Materials not returned by the last day of class in the fall and the spring semester will be charged to replace the materials.
In the back of the binder there is a "wish list" section. If there are materials you wish we had, please add them. As we look to add resources to the library we will use this list as a starting point.
