During the sophomore year, students explore balance between academics and involvement. Smith leaders start to become engaged in their committment to leadership.
Sophomore Leadership Opportunities
In addition to the Sophomore PUSH and numerous campus-wide programs offered throughout the year, these opportunities are were specifically designed with sophomores in mind:
- Take on a leadership position in a student organization
- Join Senate, run for sophomore class president, secretary or House President Association (HPA)chair
- Become an House Coordinator (HC) or House Community Advisor (HCA) through residence life
- Become involved in athletics through Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), athletic association, club sport officer, outdoor adventure trips/worker
- Get involved in the house by becoming a Head Of New Students (HONS), social chair, diversity, health or Community Service Office (CSO) representative
- Become a student academic adviser (SAA)
- Take part in leadership training through various leadership programs, CSO training, athletics first-year panels, residence life training, house governance training, Student Government Association (SGA) training, job training or a Women & Financial Independence (WFI) program
- Get involved in service through Gold Key, Orientation Leader, Smith College Emergency Medical Services (SCEMS), community engagement project, CSO house rep, CSO Board, Care internship
