For Juniors
Junior Ushers
A Smith tradition since 1893, junior ushers provide service to the college by assisting with Commencement, reunion, Senior Ball and senior week.
For many years, ushers customarily wore chiffon ball gowns, but now wear the traditional white dress associated with Ivy Day. Ushers carry the ivy chain during Ivy Day leading seniors into the Ivy Day Awards Convocation. Junior ushers are expected to participate in all events beginning with Senior Ball and ending with Commencement.
