It used to be that ivy-covered buildings, decorous classrooms and hushed libraries were the hallowed spaces where learning took place. Not so today. Just ask Pam Davis '98, an Ada Comstock Scholar who is working on a project to clean up the toxic waste the military left behind at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
