In 1995, as a senior at Irmo High School in Irmo, South Carolina, Juliet Christian-Smith '01 was considering attending Wellesley or Swarthmore colleges, or Harvard University. Smith was also high on her list. But then she considered her favorable interactions with the Smith alumnae whom she had met during the recruitment process. And she looked at the renowned accomplishments of prominent Smith graduates whose names regularly appear in the national media. In the end, it was Smith's alumnae who influenced Christian-Smith's decision to enroll here, she says / By Eric Sean Weld
