Smith Board Approves Faculty Promotions
NORTHAMPTON, Mass.—At its March meeting, the Smith College Board of Trustees approved tenure and promotion recommendations for 10 faculty members.
Promoted to full professor from associate professor were Susan Etheredge, education and child study; Samuel Intrator, education and child study; Dana Leibsohn, PP Van der Poel Professor of Art; Borjana Mikic, engineering; Suleiman Mourad, religion; L. David Smith, biological sciences; and Christine White-Ziegler, biological sciences.
Promoted to associate professor with tenure from assistant professor were Jennifer Guglielmo, history; and Frazer Ward, art. In addition, Nnamdi Pole, associate professor of psychology, received tenure.
Smith College is consistently ranked among the nation’s foremost liberal arts colleges. Enrolling 2,800 students from every state and 60 other countries, Smith is the largest undergraduate women’s college in the country.
