Students can win green by making other colleges green with envy
over Smith’s environmental sustainability efforts. Create a video that captures
an initiative at Smith and captivates an audience in three minutes or less. A recent New
York Times article detailed the need to make environmental sustainability more
accessible to the public. Smith invites students to tell
an engaging story through video and the winner will be featured on the college Web site.
To participate, submit entries to YouTube and send the link to scpic@smith.edu or send a DVD to Garrison Hall, attention video contest. All entries must be received by the end of the day Sept. 30, to be considered for the $300 prize. The winner will be announced Oct. 12.
Contest judges include Dano Weisbord, environmental
sustainability director; Jeff Baker, associate director for new media; and Judith
Roberge, assistant director of college relations. Whimsy appreciated.
