New Grant to Develop Model for Eldercare Support

Smith has received a 2009 Alfred P. Sloan Award for an initiative targeting faculty career flexibility, according to the American Council on Education (ACE). Smith's Center for Work and Life will use the $25,000 grant to support the efforts of faculty members caring for aging parents.

Athletics Issues a 5K Challenge to Five College Runners

This year's Fall Fit 5K road race, coordinated by Smith athletics, has issued a challenge to the five area colleges. The Valley Challenge Cup will be awarded to the college or university with the most participants, as well as to the fastest five-person team. The race is Sunday, September 27. Enter a team today.
