Two
Upcoming Lectures by New Chaired Professors
In a continuing series of lectures
by Smith faculty members named to chaired professorships
this year, two talks will be presented, on Mondays, Feb.
18 and 25.
Elliot Fratkin, the Gwendolen
Carter Chair of African Studies, will speak on "Africa: The
Good, the Bad, the Unexpected," on February 18; and Borjana
Mikic, the Rosemary Bradford Hewlett 1940 Professor, will
speak on "Structure and Function in Skeletal Tissues: Lessons
from Might Mouse and His Lesser Known Cousins."
Both lectures, open to all,
will take place at 4:30 p.m. in Seelye Hall, room 106.
This year's series began last
November, when chaired professor lectures were delivered
by Dana Leibsohn, Priscilla Paine Van der Poel Professor
of Art History; and Rosetta Marantz Cohen, Sylvia Dlugasch
Bauman Professor.
