Stories Project, Other Activities, Invite Dialogue Leading
to College Community Forum
The
Smith community is invited to participate in several upcoming
and ongoing events intended to inspire dialogue on campus
following recent incidents challenging the college's commitment
to welcoming diversity and celebrating difference.
From Tuesday, April 10, through
Friday, April 13, all on campus are invited to tell their
Smith stories through video, audio or the written word, using
computers and microphones set up at three campus locations:
Campus Center Green Room, open 7:30 a.m.-midnight; Neilson
2/51, open 7:30 a.m.-1 a.m.; and the Chapel Reading Room
(room B13), open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. For more details, from Dean of the College

On Tuesday, April 10, a
workshop, "How Allies Can Help," was
held for student leaders.
scheduled activities are:
- Intergroup Dialogue
on Race, 10 a.m.-noon, in Unity House
- Intergroup Dialogue
on Sexual Orientation, 1:30-3:30 p.m., Resource
Center for Sexuality and Gender
Community Forum,
4:15 p.m., John M. Greene Hall
President Christ will open the forum, followed by a faculty panel, and an opportunity
for attendees to voice ideas. Additional discussion will be encouraged during
dinner with "table talks."
Athletic practices will be canceled, and academic and
administrative offices will be closed to enable all
on campus to attend.
Facilitated house meetings in
every campus residence will follow during the next three
weeks.
