For several weeks, a construction
crew had a great view of the Valley from atop the dome of
Sage Hall. Sage renovations this summer included a complete
replacement of the slate tiles and copper flashings around
the building's dome, as well as replacement of flat roofing,
and of all the windows and window treatments. The project
also included long-needed repairs and new paint on the ceiling
inside Sweeney Concert Hall. Watch the Gate for
future construction updates on campus.

Sage
Hall roof dome before renovation. Unmatching tiles
tell of the need for repairs (see below for "after"
picture).
Not
for those afraid of heights. For several weeks, construction
workers climbed atop scaffolding encircling the Sage
dome.
Inside
Sweeney Concert Hall, elaborate staging and scaffolding
provide access to the ceiling and high windows.
New windows around Sage Hall reflect
the leafing trees and clear blue sky around the building.
No
small feat: replacing large, circular windows around
the dome, complete with weather-proof casings.
The
finished Sage dome: new slate tiles, copper flashings,
and windows that can open.
