Scott Gymnasium, Smith's venerable
facility sitting atop the hill above Ainsworth Gym, is receiving
a much-needed fresh coat of paint on its interior walls and
ceiling.
Meanwhile this month, the Indoor Track and Tennis facility
(ITT) is being outfitted with a new roof, replacing its former,
leaky lid.
Both projects are expected to be completed this month.

Scott Gym
Scott
Gymnasium is receiving fresh paint inside for
the first time in many decades.
The
interior of Scott Gym will be much brighter with freshly
painted white walls and ceiling, highlighted with
school colors, navy blue and yellow.
Extensive
staging occupies Scott Gym for the month in order for
painters to reach all corners in the 56-foot-high facility.
Indoor Track and Tennis Facility
This
month's roof replacement is the first for the ITT since
it was built.
During the initial phase of the project, contractors removed stones from the roof using industrial vacuums.
The
stones—or ballast—being removed from the
ITT roof played a functional role in the original design
of the flat-topped structure, but they will not
be replaced.
