Smith is Calling—It's for You

Student callers busily chatting during the Phone-a-thon.

Each year, some 175 students gather in the basement of Laura Scales house and hit the phones, chatting with alumnae and parents, informing them of all that Smith means to them, and asking for their support. The annual Smith Fund Phone-a-thon takes place throughout four weeks in the fall, and gives students an opportunity to share their stories with alumnae and provide essential assistance for their college. This year’s Phone-a-thon, which began on Saturday, Oct. 17, will run through Thursday, Nov. 12, and aims to contact more than 17,000 individuals.

In case you receive a call from a student during the Phone-a-thon, we’ve compiled this list, with assistance from administrators in the Office of Development, of reasons to stay on the line. Without keeping you on hold, here are:

The Top 10 Reasons to be Excited about Hearing from a Student Caller

10. Why wait for your reunion year to stay connected?
