Professor Receives Award for Mentorship
Maryjane Wraga, associate professor
of psychology at Smith, recently
received the 2006 Women in Cognitive Science Mentorship Award.
recognizes individuals who have demonstrated sustained, effective
of female students and who have also served as a research
supervisor to one or more female students during the academic
immediately preceding the nomination.
"You have gone far above
and beyond these criteria in developing the research careers
of younger female colleagues for many years," said Kathryn
T. Spoehr, chair of the award committee, when she notified
Wraga was nominated by Smith
alumna Emily Jacobs ’04 and honored during the Women
in Cognitive Science meeting on Nov. 16 in Houston.
She and two other award recipients
will each receive $2,000 toward their research.
