THE BASICS:

Where are you from?

Stamford, Conn.

Did you always know you wanted to come to Smith?

Taking "always" to
mean "since I first started looking at colleges," yep.

NOW THE FUN STUFF:

Who gets the most face time with you?

Probably the close friends who live in my house.

When was the last time you wore a dress?

Sometime last week. I discovered that some of the dresses I had when I was in elementary school are now excellent shirts.

What are you reading now?

I'm re-reading Three Junes, by Julia Glass. I've read it a number of times, and each time gotten something different out of it.

Do you eat fast food?

Yuck.

What do you miss most about home?

My mother, my best friend, and the bizarre conversations my family has at dinner.

What is your favorite movie?

I just saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch, so it's on my mind right now, but I'm fickle.

Describe your worst date.

I flirted. She suggested getting lunch. We did so. It went splendidly until she mentioned her boyfriend. Then I felt very silly.

If you suddenly had two hours of free time, what would you do?

Sketch out a design and finally use the henna I got last year.

What is your favorite wall hanging in your room?

It's a tie between a group photograph of some good friends, and the card from my family in which my stepfather insists that one of our cats is devouring him whole.

Do you consider yourself an urban, suburban, or rural person?

A little of each.

What annoys the heck out of you?

People who refuse to respect anyone who disagrees with them. (Not that I haven't been guilty of this.)

Who are your role models?

My high school art and English teachers. They made me want to teach.

What single piece of advice would you give to President Christ?

I imagine this is a pretty common response, but: be a bit more straightforward with us.
