A Halloween Carnival in the Quad

Smith’s Quadrangle will be transformed into a Halloween carnival on Monday, October 28, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., when students invite the public to bring their kids in costume and partake in a succession of fun, tasty and scary activities.

Each of the six houses in the quad will set up and staff a different Halloween attraction, such as a haunted house, pumpkin decorating, face painting, arts and crafts, assorted games and, of course, trick or treating for candy.

The event was organized by the college’s House President’s Association, a group of 35 student residence leaders, and is sponsored by the Office of College Relations. Student volunteers will supervise the activities.

“It’s going to be just like a little fair,” says Sara Neuffer ’03, the president of Wilder House and an event organizer. “Students are really excited about it.”

Attendees—especially children—are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes, Neuffer says, and should enter the Quad from the archway off of Paradise Road.

Happy Halloween!
