Public Safety Staffing Announcement

November 18, 2009
To the Mount Holyoke, Hampshire and Smith college communities:

Paul Ominsky, Director of the three-College Public Safety Department, will be leaving as of January 31, 2010, for a position at Princeton University where he has been named Director of Public Safety.

Paul became Director of Public Safety at Mount Holyoke in 1992 and assumed the directorship positions at Smith and Hampshire in 2003 and 2008, respectively. This collaborative initiative culminated in the combining of the three departments on July 1, 2009.

Paul's service to the three colleges has set a very high standard, and we will miss him. At the same time, I hope you will join with me in wishing him every success in his new position. In the meantime, administrators at the three campuses have already begun discussion about a plan to provide interim leadership.
