Music Majors After Smith
Smith graduates are professional conductors, performers and composers; they are working in music publishing, management, promotion and music journalism; they are music librarians; they teach music at the secondary and college level. Many students who study music at Smith subsequently perform in community music organizations or serve as board members of musical institutions or as advocates of musical causes within their communities.
Taking a major in music, or in any other department or program, does not limit you to a career in that field. Recent graduates in music are currently working in banking, for example, as well as in secondary education, medicine and marketing.
