DEADLINE MARCH 15, 2008 METAMORPHOSES:
The Journal of the Five College Faculty Seminar on Literary Translation requests submissions for the fall 2008 general issue (16.2). We welcome translations of poetry and prose from and into any language, as well as brief essays or articles on the practice and theory of translation, and short book reviews.
We require all contributions to be submitted both in hard copy and electronically (email attachment and/or CD). Our standard computer format is Microsoft Word (PC), or Word for Mac. No translation will be considered unless it is accompanied by the source-language text. Work submitted is sent out to qualified readers for double-blind peer review.
Submissions should consist of previously untranslated texts unless they can offer a significant and new understanding of the work in question. All submissions must be accompanied by short biographical sketches of both author and translator. Contributors are responsible for securing permission from all copyright holders. Please make certain that you have permission to publish the translation, and in the case of poetry, to reprint the original text. And please proofread your work carefully!
Please mail your submission to the
