Recall
Policies | How
to Recall an Item | Returning
Recalled Items
If you need a library item that
is checked out to another patron, you can recall it - request that it
be returned - for your use:
- Recalled items are due one week
after the date the recall is placed. For recently checked out items,
the original patron is allowed to keep the item for two weeks.
- The borrower will receive an
email notice informing them of the change in due date.
- You will receive an email notice
when the item has been returned. The item will be held for you at the
appropriate service desk for 10 days.
- Most recalled items are returned
within a few days. If you need the item urgently, however, contact
the circulation staff to expedite the recall.
HOW
TO RECALL
RETURNING RECALLED
ITEMS
- If an item is recalled from you,
you must return it by the date specified on the notice. Even though
the original loan may have been for a longer period, the loan period
is curtailed when another borrower needs the item.
- The fine for recalled items returned
late is $2 per day.
- If possible, please return a
recalled item to its home library, or allow extra time for its return
if turned in at another Five College library.
- If you have additional questions,
please contact
the circulation staff.
