Guidelines for Use | Reference Assistance | Photoduplication | Accomodations GUIDELINES FOR THE USE OF MATERIALS The collections of the Mortimer Rare Book Room are available to all. Completion of a brief registration form is required of all users. Patrons from out of town are encouraged to communicate with the curators before visiting. The Mortimer Rare Book Room is a closed-stack collection. All requested materials are paged by staff for use in the Reading Room. Only pencils and laptops may be used in the Reading Room. Magnifiers are available upon request. REFERENCE ASSISTANCE Assistance in identifying and using materials held by the Mortimer Rare Book Room is available during Reading Room hours: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Off-site researchers may submit reference inquiries to the curators via email, telephone, fax, or mail. Reference inquiries are answered in the order in which they are received. PHOTODUPLICATION: POLICIES AND ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS To assist scholars in their research, the Mortimer Rare Book Room offers limited photoduplication services, including photocopies, photographic reproductions, and digital images. Requests for photoduplication are subject to curatorial approval. Copies may be denied due to the fragile condition of the original material. The Mortimer Rare Book Room's sale of a reproduction does not imply an authorization to publish it. It is the reader's responsibility to obtain permission to publish texts and facsimiles from the owners of the copyright. A minimum service fee is charged for all orders which must be mailed.
