HOURS During the regular semester, the joint reading room of the College Archives and the Sophia Smith Collection is open for research use on the following days and times:
DIRECTIONS The Smith College Archives are located on Level A of Alumnae Gym (enter through Neilson Library) where it shares space with the Sophia Smith Colllection (Smith's women's history manuscript collection). See Directions & Parking for more information. STAFF
The Smith College Archives is open to all individuals with an interest in understanding the varied and changing aspects of Smith history. Individuals and groups are welcome to use the materials held in its collection. Materials are non-circulating and must be used in the Archives Reading Room. A brief registration process, including photo identification is required of all researchers. Some records in the College Archives have restrictions placed on them for various reasons that include privacy, state and federal regulations, and issues of fragility and preservation. These restrictions are noted in the various access tools available to researchers. Some materials are located off-site and require a 48 hour notice for retrieval. Some audio-visual materials may require reproduction before viewing/listening and may cause a delay in your research.
