BOOKING & REQUESTING VIDEOS AND FILMS FOR ACADEMIC USE

• Search the Five College Library Catalog for needed video materials.
• To book or request materials:
• Complete the online Video Booking Form.
• Pick up items at Neilson Circulation at the requested time.
• Return items to Neilson Circulation immediately after use.

Booking Deadline: one week in advance for all items. To ensure availability, please book items as far in advance as possible.

Note: Faculty and staff may also borrow videos in person at the Five College Libraries.

RENTING VIDEOS AND FILMS FOR CLASSROOM USE [Smith Faculty only]

• For items not in the Five Colleges:
  • Complete the online Video Rental Form.
  • Include the distributor, if known, and your departmental account number for billing.
  • You will receive e-mail about the availability and receipt of the item.

Rental Deadline: six weeks in advance. To ensure availability, please request rentals as far in advance as possible.

REQUESTING EQUIPMENT

• Contact The Center for Media Production.

REQUESTING PREVIEW COPIES (Smith Faculty only)

• Please request preview copies directly from the publisher or distributor.
• For help identifying publishers and distributors, contact the Neilson Reference Desk in person, by phone (x2966) or by e-mail.
• To retain a preview copy for the Libraries, please send the item and related paperwork to Mia Brazill (x2922) in Neilson Acquisitions.
• Return unwanted preview copies according to the distributor's directions.
