Purchasing DVDs, Videos, and Films

Use the Library Order Form to purchase DVDs and videos for the libraries' collections.

Requesting Five College Videos & DVDs

• See Find DVDs & Videos for more information on how to find, borrow, and request DVDs and videos.
• Smith DVDs & Videos: Borrow Smith DVDs & videos in person at the Neilson or Josten service desks.
• Five College DVDs & Videos: Use Request Item in the online library catalog to request Five College DVDs & videos.
• Note: Students, faculty and staff may also borrow videos in person at the Five College Libraries.
• Use the Video Booking Form to book Smith and Five College DVDs and videos for specific screening dates.
  • Deadline: 5 working days in advance
  • For scheduled screenings, please submit requests as early as possible

Renting Videos & Films for Classroom Use [Smith Faculty only]

• For items not in the Five Colleges:
  • Complete the online Video Rental Form.
  • Include the distributor, if known, and your departmental account number for billing.
  • Look for an email about availability and receipt of the item.
•     Rental Deadline: at least six weeks in advance.

Scheduling Equipment

• Use ITS's Classroom Supprt form.

Requesting Preview Copies (Smith Faculty only)

• Please request preview copies directly from the publisher or distributor.
• For help identifying publishers and distributors, contact the Neilson Reference Desk in person, by phone (x2960) or by email.
• Return unwanted preview copies according to the distributor's directions.
• To retain a preview copy for the Libraries, please send the item and related paperwork to Neilson Acqusitions. .
