The Dictionary of Art. New York: Grove's Dictionaries, 1996.
The dictionary has an extensive survey article about Spain which includes interesting "related articles" links and excellent articles on individual architects, painters, etc.Also consult articles about the artistic climate in 18th-century Spain during the reigns of Charles III and Charles IV. Each article is supplemented by a bibliography of major primary and secondary sources.

Links to electronic sources of images of all types--works of art, news photos, other illustrations.

Insight Database the database including over 100,000 images from AMICO (Art Museum Image Consortium), digital reproductions of numerous objects from the Mortimer Rare Book Room and the Smith College Museum of Art, and more than 5,000 images used for teaching and study from the Department of Art Image Collections. Insight is accessible only on the Smith campus.

Sponsored by the Bibliotheque National de France. The section called "Iconographie, monnaies et pierres gravées: Fonds de la Bibliothèque nationale de France" is of particular note for this assignment.
