DOING RESEARCH WHILE YOU'RE OFF CAMPUS

If you need help while you are away this summer here are some hints to help you.

  • First scout out your local public and academic libraries. Use these resources - some libraries may have important items we do not.
  • While you are away you will have access to almost all Smith electronic resources. When asked for a username or password, use your Smith Novell & Groupwise username and password.
  • For journal articles not available online, check for print holdings at Smith via the SC Links button or the Journal Locator. If we have what you need in print, send an e-mail to neilref@email.smith.edu, and we will supply the article(s) from our collection.
  • If the journal isn’t available online or in print from Smith, you may request it via Interlibrary Loan.
  • Consider using RefWorks as a software system for safe storage of your citations. You will be able to access this both on and off campus.
  • If you need help, visit the Smith College Libraries Help Page and get in touch with us.
