This is the standard scholarly encyclopedia for Jewish Studies; begin any research by consulting the article and bibliography of this excellent and recently-published source. Be sure to read the section on BIBLE – EXEGESIS AND STUDY – MEDIEVAL RABBINIC COMMENTARIES.

To find books on any aspect of Jewish history and culture use the Five College Library Catalog.

First experiment by searching under SUBJECT KEYWORDS or SUBJECT BEGINS WITH, using the broader KEYWORDS ANYWHERE if you want to make your search broader.

By far the most important database for Jewish Studies.  From the main page click on Rambi Web and search by SUBJECT.  Be sure to use Interlibrary Loan to obtain any articles not onwed by Smith.

JSTOR (back issues excluding the most recent 2-5 years)
Full-text database allows you to search for specific words or subjects within scholarly journal articles.

Index to Jewish Periodicalsl 1988+
This is a collection of more popular Jewish magazine articles.
