Yale University Librarian Susan Gibbons is well known for the library user studies she undertook at the University of Rochester in collaboration with an anthropologist. This multi-year project examined how faculty and students do their academic work, find information, and make use of the physical and technological resources offered by the libraries. The results of this study led to numerous improvements in library spaces and services to better meet user needs.
