Robert Hass
Award-winning poet and former United States Poet Laureate, Robert Hass, read Tuesday evening, October 2, 2007, following the opening reception of the Face of Poetry exhibition. The events were scheduled in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Smith College Poetry Center.

Robert Hass’s poetry serves as a guide to the natural world, while also leading the reader through the complex realms of human interaction. Hass’s first poetry collection, Field Guide, was selected by Stanley Kunitz for the Yale Younger Poets series in 1973.
Hass has published four books of poetry and has translated the poems of Czeslaw Milosz, as well as Japanese haiku. He also edited Poet’s Choice: Poems for Everyday Life, available at Amazon.com.
