| 5:00 pm | The Mezzanine Dances Josten Library Mezzanine |
Choreographer and Smith MFA candidate Eliza Larson will bring a cast of five to create a site-specific improvisational dance -- made on and in the Josten Library Mezzanine. Her collaborators – Hope Wilson, Emma Dreyfus, Addie Reine, Sabina Smith-Moreland, and Michelle Marroquin – will explore a space that many find inspirational. The mezzanine itself will be an integral part of the dance, and the dancers – library patrons – will address an area normally used for quiet study with the kinesthetic vocabulary of the dance.
A patron-driven performance series in Josten Library's acoustically brilliant mezzanine. Students, faculty, and staff in the performing arts offer informal live music, dance, and theatre performances on first Fridays during the semester, at 5:00 pm, in that little interval between tea and supper. Come see and hear the library come alive with the passions and projects of our patrons.
