Free Hugs valentine
Exhibition: Spouses, Lovers, Significant Others: Artists and the Ideal of Love, Feb. 1 - March 4, 2016
The Hillyer art library celebrates Valentine’s Day and I Love My Library Day with an exhibition featuring books and images from the library’s monograph collection. Every picture tells a story, and in this case, a love story. The images on view celebrate the ideal of love in the eyes and mind of the artist, and features a variety of artists throughout the centuries. Viewers are invited to compare and contrast the images, and to try to decipher the love story that inspired the works of art.  Some may be surprised by the true stories! Curated by Lisa DeCarolis (Smith College Class of ’93 and Circulation Coordinator)
