Well known for her many published works and awards, Claudia Roquette-Pinto is especially fond of Smith where she translated Sylvia Plath’s poetry into Portuguese.
Refreshments will be served. Sponsored by Spanish and Portuguese, the Global Studies Center, and the Endowed Lecture Funds at Smith College, and by the Five Colleges Afro-Luso-Brazilian Faculty Seminar. The event is free, open to the public, and wheel chair accessible.
The following morning, the Global Studies Center is pleased to present a Global Salon breakfast Stray Bullets and Lasting Flowers: A Breakfast Chat with Brazilian Poet Claudia Roquette-Pinto. Global Salons present opportunities for the Smith community to gather to discuss global issues and meet with special guests from around the world. Breakfast drinks and pastries will be served.
