Pop-Up Exhibition Activists in the Archives: Learning From History: Moring Forward Together
  KnowledgeLab, Neilson level 2

The pop-up exhibition features an intergenerational dialogue between feminist activists, many of whose papers have been donated to the Smith College Special Collections. The Women’s History Month we know today evolved from the efforts of early women’s activists in the mid-20th century. Tracing that history is imperative in having, and understanding, national and international conversations.

The collection is a chronological look at the history of Women’s History Month, and features documents from International Women’s Day, activism on Smith College’s campus, and from organizations such as ARISE, Third World Women’s Alliance, and the Prison Birth Project. It focuses on how to become involved in activism, in women’s history activism, and the many varied forms of activism. Please visit our Resources page and Streaming Video page for more information.

Also visit our website to view video footage, photographs and documents from the Sophia Smith Collection and College Archives. Note: some media is available for streaming only on Smith campus.
