If You Love Libraries and Special Collections, Join Us.
We welcome your interest and encourage you to swell our ranks and support our work. Friends provide perennial support by contributing annual membership dues. Gifts benefiting our Fundraising Goals are also most welcome as they address current and future needs. All contributions are tax-deductible and count toward alumnae annual giving and class totals. You may join the Friends right now or mail in your check using this printer-friendly form.
When you join, you can expect to receive:
- Invitations to lectures, receptions and other special events
- A subscription to the libraries’ newsletters
- Acknowledgement in the Annual List of Donors
- A complimentary set of postcards featuring photographs from the Smith College Archives (for new members at basic membership levels)
- A set of postcards and the plating of a new book for the libraries in your honor or in honor/memory of someone you designate (for new members at the Contributor level and above)
Gifts of Materials
Potential donors are encouraged to consult library staff before making a gift. For general inquiries, contact Mia Brazill, Collection Development Director, Tel: (413) 585-2922. Donations to special collections must be reviewed by the curator - Go to the Smith Libraries and Collections page for contact information. Donated materials will be added to the collections as appropriate; duplicates or materials unsuited to the collections will not be retained except where the law requires.
