The Phoebe Reese Lewis Leadership Program is a highly acclaimed, innovative program designed to provide undergraduate women with hands-on learning experiences and training in practical leadership skills.
Do you want to be a more effective leader? The Lewis Leadership Program's January Leadership Intensive will develop the intellectual abilities and technical skills that you will need for successful leadership in college and long afterward. Program participants spend two weeks attending all-day workshops led by Smith faculty members, professionals, and community leaders. You will increase your understanding of group dynamics, improve your public speaking and presentation skills, learn negotiation tactics, practice techniques to manage conflict, and sharpen your ability to manage resources. You will put your leadership skills into practice by working with community members and organizations to address real community issues.
Programs We Support
In addition to the signature January Leadership Initiative, the Phoebe Lewis Leadership fund supports students participating in programs like the PLEN conferences in Washington D.C.; outdoor leadership training and initiatives; and the Leadership by Design program.
