Bard College Globalization and International Affairs Program

Bard College’s Globalization and International Affairs Program (BGIA) provides a unique opportunity for university students and recent graduates from around the world to engage in the study and practice of international relations. BGIA blends rigorous coursework in subjects including: human rights law; terrorism and counter-terrorism; civil society development; grand strategy; counterinsurgency; global public health; managing global risk; ethics; and writing on international affairs with professional internships at international organizations in New York City. BGIA is a highly selective program for a limited number of students each semester, and in our eight-week summer program.

Camphill is dedicated to creating communities where the values of service, sharing, spiritual nourishment, and recognition of each individual’s gifts and contributions offer a model of renewal for the wider society. In Camphill communities, daily life is shared with children, youth, and adults who have disabilities - in ways that are both intentionally therapeutic and intentionally personal. The result is that Camphill offers all community members a life of accomplishment, celebration, and meaning. Camphill Communities of North America is proud to be a part of the diverse portfolio of AmeriCorps programs. AmeriCorps members live and work in each community and help children to learn and grow, provide a transition to adulthood for young people with developmental disabilities, ages 18-25, and meaningful work for older adults with disabilities. AmeriCorps members provide an added level of capacity that allows for more robust programming activities for individuals with developmental disabilities. In many communities, participation in Special Olympics and other social and advocacy groups are coordinated by the AmeriCorps members.

Open to all majors, positions available in various states across the country.

Positions: Year-long AmeriCorps positions supporting the daily life of children and adults with developmental disabilities in an intentional community setting.
