I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina where I studied Music and Literature.  Upon arriving in the United States in 1989, I went back to school to continue advanced study of literature. I have been at Smith College since 1993. Aside from my interests in Latin American literature, I am very interested in film, Jewish history, and the history and politics of Argentina. My book on autobiographical writings from Latin America, Cuatro Textos Autobiográficos Latinoamericanos, was published in 2004 by Peter Lang Publishing Co.
