Born and raised in Israel, Ilona Ben-Moshe has been teaching Hebrew as a second language since 1991 at various academic institutes such as the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of Lucerne, Switzerland, Dartmouth College and Hebrew College in the United States. In addition, she has served as the didactic coordinator of the Hebrew language program at Prozdor at the high school of Hebrew College in Newton, MA.

Ilona received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Tel-Aviv University and her M.A in Communications from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Academic interests:

  • Second Language Acquisition curriculum design and implementation, including methodology and organization of classroom instruction, particularly with reference to Modern Hebrew in American university and high school settings, as well as in Israel's's mass immigration setting.
  • Language education policies and planning.
  • Student and program evaluation.
  • Incorporating culture studies in language teaching.

She teaches both Elementary and Intermediate Modern Hebrew
