Tuning Up Your Windows Computer
Regular maintenance and cleaning of your computer helps keep it running smoothly and efficiently. This document explains several procedures you can perform yourself to keep your computer operating at peak performance.

Un-Sharing Your Files On Windows XP
If your computer is running Windows XP, you may be inadvertently sharing your files with others on the Smith network. This is because some XP computers are shipped with filesharing enabled by default. This configuration is desirable for many home users, but does not provide sufficient security and privacy for users connected to a campus-wide network. This document explains how to disable filesharing on your computer.

Printing on Both Sides of the Paper
HP LaserJet printers that have the letter D in their model name (D, DT, DN, or  DTN) all have built-in automatic duplexing capability. This document contains procedures for checking your printer driver's abilities in Windows XP or Macintosh OS X systems. You will also find general instructions for duplexing a document.

Hewlett-Packard Printer Drivers
A "printer driver" is a software program that must be installed on your computer before it can communicate with a particular printer. Click here to visit a Hewlett-Packard website from which you can download the specific driver required for your HP printer.

Managing Windows Files and Folders
This document explains how to use the "My Computer" window to move or copy files and folders from one folder or drive to another, and to delete and rename files and folders.

Using Windows Explorer to Print a Directory Listing
Would you like to be able to get a printed list of all the files in a folder? This trick lets you right-click on any folder icon in Windows Explorer, and get a printed list of all the files and subfolders it contains.
