McAfee VirusScan for Windows

This document explains how to install McAfee VirusScan on a Windows computer, and set up the program to automatically update your virus definition files. These regular updates help ensure that VirusScan can detect and block new viruses as soon as they are identified by McAfee's virus team.

The instructions also explain how to configure the program to scan all files when you open them, and scan your fixed disks (hard drives) on demand.

Please allow 10-15 minutes to complete the installation, setup, and initial scan. When you're done, you'll know your computer is completely virus-free and configured to prevent new infections. If you have any problems with the installation, call the User Support Center at x4487.

IMPORTANT:  Do not install McAfee VirusScan if you already have another anti-virus program, such as Norton Anti-Virus, on your computer. Be sure to un-install the other program before you install VirusScan.
