What's New in Office 2007

What's New in Office 2007

Office 2007 has a new user interface that is much different from previous versions. Instead of presenting options in traditional menus, the new interface groups related functions under separate tabs, each with its own "Ribbon" toolbar. Users can choose to hide the Ribbon or keep it visible while they work. Many options are also available in easily-accessible pop-up menus.

If you'd like to explore the Ribbon and other features first hand, please join us in one of the following workshops.

Using the Writing Template for your Research Methods Course

Liane Hartman has created a Writing Template that incorporates many of the same styles (special formatting commands) you will later employ if you use the Thesis Template to format your thesis.

If you use the Writing Template for your class assignments, you won't have to do any additional formatting if you want to copy paragraphs or pages from your assignments to your thesis. In this class, we'll cover the different styles that make up the template and how to apply them.

Special Instructions: If you have a Mac or PC laptop with wireless capability, bring your laptop to class so you can download the template to your computer. All other users will use a lab computer with Office 2007.
